Practice Games

The Practice Games room is where new players can get used to both the Magic game and the Magic Online interface. Games in the Practice Games room don't count towards your Magic Online ratings.

All events in the Practice Games room use Seventh Edition theme decks. New players can try all five decks to learn about the Magic colors.

To go to the Practice Games room, click Practice Games in the Training Room.

Starting a New Practice Game
In the Practice Games room you can start a new game by clicking on the New Game table in the upper left corner of the room. You can also click New Game in the lower right corner.

The New Game Options window will open, where you can choose options for the event. The only options you need to worry about are whether you want to play a solitaire game or one-on-one, whether it's a single game or best two-of-three, and what deck you want to play.

After you click the OK button, the Waiting for Players window will open with your avatar at the table. If you're playing a solitaire game, just click the OK button to begin the event. Otherwise you have to wait for another player to join, then click the OK button.

Joining a Practice Game
To join a game that another player started, click on an empty chair at a table with a player sitting at it (in graphics mode) or select a game on the list that says "Waiting for players" and click Join (in spreadsheet mode). In graphics mode you can point your mouse at a table and see a pop-up window that lists information about the event. In spreadsheet mode, you can see all the details about an event listed in the same row.

Getting Help During a Game
Once a game has started, you can right click the in-play area of the Duel screen and select Help.
